Monarchs Release 2025 Women's Soccer Schedule

8/14/2025 2:15:00 PM

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.  Head women's soccer coach Bryan Madej has announced the Methodist women's soccer team's 2025 schedule, which begins later this month on Aug. 30. The schedule features six non–conference contests — including a late–season matchup at home against Christopher Newport University — as well as a nine–game USA South Athletic Conference slate.

The Monarchs open at home for the first time since the 2021 season, hosting Eastern Mennonite University on Aug. 30. Methodist has defeated EMU in each of the past four seasons, including last year's 1–0 victory in Harrisburg, Virginia.

With two more ODAC opponents to face, the Monarchs travel to Guilford College in Greensboro on Sept. 3 and Averett University in Danville, Virginia, on Sept. 10. Back home for the next two games, Methodist takes on Division II Shaw University on Sept. 17 followed by a faceoff with the University of Mary Washington on Sept. 20.

The Monarchs enter USA South competition as the reigning champs, having won the 2024 USA South Tournament. Starting conference play away from home, the team travels to Meredith College to face the Avenging Angels on Sept. 23 before making the trip to Salem College on Sept. 27. The matchup versus the Spirits was originally set to be in Fayetteville, but the teams agreed to swap locations last season when field conditions at Salem moved the 2024 match from Winston–Salem to Fayetteville.

A third consecutive road game will see the Monarchs travel to Greensboro College on Oct. 1. Methodist's first home match against a USA South foe will occur on Oct. 4, when the Brevard College Tornados come to town. The following Saturday (Oct. 11), the team will head to Southern Virginia University for a rematch of the 2024 USA South Championship.

Methodist returns to Duggins Soccer Stadium on Oct. 15 to face the Falcons of Pfeiffer University, then travels back to the state of Virginia to play at Mary Baldwin University on Oct. 18. The Monarchs are undefeated against the Fighting Squirrels in program history, having won all 18 matchups.

The Christopher Newport Captains come to Fayetteville this season for a midweek non–conference match on Oct. 21. The Captains will be a tough test for the Monarchs, as they enter the season ranked No. 3 nationally in the United Soccer Coaches preseason poll.

The final two games of the regular season see the Monarchs host William Peace University on Oct. 25 before travelling to Rocky Mount to face North Carolina Wesleyan University on Oct. 29. The Monarchs have won 23 matches in a row against the Battling Bishops.

The 2025 USA South Women's Soccer Tournament will begin with the First Round on Saturday, Nov. 1, followed by the semifinals on Wednesday, Nov. 5 and the championship match on Saturday, Nov. 8.
