SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. Competing in the team's first event of the season, the Methodist men's golf "B" squad captured first place at the Flyer Fall Invitational on Tuesday, beating out seven other teams in the two–day tournament. The Monarchs were led by
Aiden McCall and
Karston Rennie, who finished the event in a three–way tie for first place on the individual leaderboard before McCall's eventual playoff victory.

THE 'ROUND' UP
- McCall led the way for the Monarchs during the opening round by shooting two strokes under par. His three–over par in the second round put him at +1 for the tournament. Tied with Rennie and USC Sumter's Axel Stahlgren, McCall emerged as the victor following three playoff holes.
- Rennie posted Methodist's best score on Tuesday, carding a 71 after his 74 in Monday's round.
- Landon Bergman collected a top–five finish, taking fourth place with a three–over par total. He shot one stroke over par on Monday and two strokes over in the second round.
- Finishing as the fourth–best in the Methodist lineup by one stroke, Tyson Laviano improved upon his first–round 78 with a 75 on day two. Jake Bradley also posted a 75 on Monday before scoring an improved 76 on Tuesday. Laviano and Bradley each finished in the top 20 with scores of +9 and +10 respectively.

The Methodist "B" team will next be in action on Oct. 20 and 21 at the Chick–Fil–A Invitational hosted by Berry College in Rome, Georgia.
