SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. The Methodist University men's golf "B" and "C" team competed in the Flyer Spring Invitational on Tuesday after Monday's round was canceled due to rain. At the conclusion of the one-round event, the Methodist "B" squad captured second place out of 11 teams, while the "C" squad finished sixth.

"B" Monarchs
- Aiden McCall led the way for the "B" side at two strokes over par. He carded birdies on holes 9 and 13. Next in line were Brady Tremblay and Cade Sherwood, who each shot 76. Tremblay birdied hole 1 but totaled five bogeys. Sherwood shot five-over on the front nine before going one-under across the back nine, birdying holes 14, 15 and 16. He totaled a team-best four birdies on the day.
- Gavin June and Jake Bradley each shot five strokes over par, with June making par on 13 of 18 holes. Bradley's route to 77 saw a pair of double bogeys before a pair of birdies on holes 16 and 17.
"C" Monarchs
- Tyson Laviano was the top Monarch on the "C" squad, tying McCall with a 74 on the round. He produced three birdies on the day, all of which came within his final six holes.
- Karston Rennie also totaled three back-nine birdies, canceling out some of the damage done on the front half of the course. He ended the round at five strokes over par, tied with Tremblay and Sherwood.
- Davis Linhardt started behind the eight ball with a double bogey off the opening tee box. He finished with a seven-over par 79. Behind him with an 81 was Colby McCaskill, who double bogeyed the same hole. Rounding out the crew was Trey Smith, who collected two birdies while shooting 85 on the round.

Though there are no more scheduled outings for the Methodist "B" or "C" teams this season, the varsity men's golf team will compete next at the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational on March 20, 21 and 22.
