HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Methodist wasted no time setting the tone, opening the game with a dominant 17–0 run to seize early control. The Monarchs held Meredith scoreless for more than seven minutes, forcing multiple turnovers while shooting efficiently from the floor. During the stretch, Kayleen Grullon knocked down a pair of three-pointers as Methodist built its commanding lead. Meredith finally broke through late in the quarter, but the Monarchs remained in full control and closed the opening frame ahead 21–7.
  • The Monarchs carried that momentum into the second quarter, continuing to push the pace and capitalize on defensive pressure. Korin Gladden led the way offensively, attacking the paint and converting at a high rate. Meredith managed to string together a brief scoring run midway through the period, but Methodist quickly answered and took a 42–21 advantage into halftime.
  • Out of the break, Methodist showed no signs of slowing down. The Monarchs opened the third quarter with another strong burst, using crisp ball movement and transition opportunities to extend the lead beyond 30. Meredith attempted to counter with a short run, but Methodist responded with steady interior scoring and timely perimeter shooting. The Monarchs outscored the Avenging Angels 20–16 in the third to take a 62–37 lead into the final period.
  • With a comfortable cushion in the fourth quarter, Methodist continued to play with composure, maintaining defensive intensity while sharing minutes. The Monarchs dominated the paint, created second-chance opportunities on the glass, and continued to convert Meredith turnovers into points, closing out the contest with a 28-point victory.
