Layla Wiesenfeld propelled the Methodist women's lacrosse team to an 18–9 victory on Wednesday evening over Guilford College. The Monarchs are now 2–0 away from home to start the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Wiesenfeld, Rylie Sturgill and Alana Rabon all scored within the first three minutes of the game to give Methodist the early lead. Two more goals from Wiesenfeld and one by Jenifer Ferreira put the Monarchs on top 6–0 on just eight shots.
- Wiesenfeld scored five of Methodist's next seven goals, with Brooke Murrell accommodating for the other two.
- Methodist kept its foot on the gas after boasting a 10–5 lead at halftime, outscoring the Quakers 4–3 in the third and 4–1 in the fourth. Freshman Amadis Levasa scored in the fourth, marking her third consecutive game with at least one goal.
FAST FACTS
- Wiesenfeld's nine goals tie for fourth in program history for an individual single-game performance. Her 11 points on the outing tie for ninth in a single game.
- Murrell's three-goal performance was also a career best, and she did so while recording team highs of four ground balls, four caused turnovers and six draw controls.
