ROME, Ga. Back on Thursday, April 23, the USA South Athletic Conference announced its 2026 Women's Lacrosse All-Conference Awards, with Methodist University earning six All-Conference selections.
Rylie Sturgill,
Brooke Murrell,
Layla Wiesenfeld,
Alana Rabon,
Allye Carter, and
Kaylea Carter all received postseason recognition, while sophomore
Jenifer Ferreira was named to the conference's All-Sportsmanship Team.
Sturgill and Murrell highlighted the Monarch selections as First Team All-Conference honorees. For Sturgill, it marks the first All-Conference award of her collegiate career, while Murrell closes out her career with her third consecutive First Team selection.
Sturgill, a sophomore from Baltimore, Maryland, started all 17 games and led the Monarchs with a career-high 27 assists. She also ranked second on the team in goals (43), points (70), and ground balls (38), while adding 16 caused turnovers and 11 draw controls.
Murrell, a senior from Perryville, Maryland, capped off her Methodist career with one of the top defensive seasons in the conference. Starting all 17 contests, she led the team with 74 ground balls and 48 caused turnovers, while also posting a career-high 93 draw controls. Offensively, Murrell contributed 27 goals and 15 assists during her senior campaign.
The Monarchs' lone Second Team All-Conference selection was Wiesenfeld, who earned the first postseason honor of her career following a standout senior season. The Orlando, Florida, native started all 17 games and led Methodist with 63 goals and 75 points, both ranking among the top five marks in the USA South. Wiesenfeld also totaled 12 assists, 23 ground balls, 17 caused turnovers, and five draw controls.
Methodist's final three All-Conference honorees — Rabon,
Allye Carter, and
Kaylea Carter — were each named to the Third Team. All three earned the first postseason awards of their collegiate careers.
Rabon, a freshman from Matthews, North Carolina, put together an impressive debut season after starting 16 games. She finished third on the team in both goals (34) and ground balls (30), while her 42 draw controls tied for second-best on the roster. Rabon also ranked fourth on the team in scoring with 37 points, adding 14 caused turnovers and three assists.
Allye Carter, a junior from Graham, North Carolina, appeared in 15 games with 11 starts and posted career-best defensive numbers. She recorded 16 ground balls and 13 caused turnovers, while also contributing two goals and one assist offensively.
Kaylea Carter, a senior from Graham, North Carolina, also enjoyed a career year in her final season. In 14 games with 13 starts, she registered 19 caused turnovers, the second-highest total on the team, along with 17 ground balls and one goal scored.
