GREENSBORO, N.C. The Methodist women's basketball team hit the road Monday evening for a USA South matchup at Greensboro College. Despite answering nearly every surge by the Pride, the Monarchs came up just short in a 78–73 setback inside Hanes Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Early foul trouble shaped the opening minutes, with the first five points of the game coming at the free-throw line, giving Greensboro a 4–1 edge. Lindsay Redmon knocked down a pair of three-pointers as the quarter progressed, and Ary Ingram followed with six straight points to push the Pride's lead to 18–7. Methodist answered late in the period, closing the quarter on an 11–3 run to pull within three, 21–18.
- Kenya Atterbury opened the second quarter with a three-pointer to even the score, but Greensboro responded with four straight points before connecting on three consecutive triples to rebuild a double-digit advantage, 34–23. Once again, the Monarchs finished the period strong, outscoring the Pride 12–5 over the final minutes to trail by just four, 39–35, at halftime.
- Methodist opened the second half with renewed energy, as Kayleen Grullon and Jada Richardson scored early to tie the game at 39–39. Greensboro answered with a brief run to regain the lead, but the Monarchs stayed within striking distance behind interior scoring from Korin Gladden and Grullon. Methodist pulled within one late in the third quarter before a late Greensboro three-pointer sent the Pride into the final period with a narrow 60–58 advantage.
- The fourth quarter featured a tightly contested back-and-forth battle with multiple lead changes. Richardson tied the game early, and the Monarchs briefly moved in front behind free throws from Giavonna Dunlap and Eva McRae, along with a jumper from Jehari Jacobs. Greensboro regained momentum with a key run midway through the period and held the advantage down the stretch. Methodist cut the deficit to three in the final minute, but the Pride sealed the game with a late basket to secure the 78–73 victory.
