BLOOMINGTON, Minn.  Following a terrific week at the plate, Methodist's Blake Freeman was named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week at the designated hitter position. Last week, the junior played in four games, slashing slashed .438/.500/.750 in four games with seven hits, eight RBI, three walks and four runs scored.
 
In a 15-10 win over fourth-ranked Belhaven University, Freeman got the scoring started with a three-run homer in the first inning to put Methodist on the board first, finishing the game with two hits, one walk, one run scored and four RBI. In a three-game series with USA South opponent Southern Virginia University, he produced five hits, four RBI, two walks and three runs scored on the weekend as the Monarchs took the series to start conference play 2–1.
 
Through 17 games this season, Freeman is now second on the team in batting average (.385) and hits (25) while leading the team in RBI (18). He's also tied for the team lead in doubles with seven.
