MISENHEIMER, N.C. Methodist baseball broke things open late to secure a 19–5 victory over Pfeiffer University in USA South action on Saturday at Joe Ferebee Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Pfeiffer grabbed an early advantage, scoring two runs in the second inning and adding another in the third to take a 3–0 lead.
- Methodist responded by chipping away, plating its first run in the fourth inning. Freshman Bronson Shaikh was hit by a pitch and stole second before coming around to score on a double by senior Parker Evans.
- The Monarchs surged ahead in the fifth inning with a four-run frame. With the bases loaded, a pair of wild pitches allowed two runs to score and even the game at 3–3. Senior Ethan Golemo followed with an RBI, and senior Keegan Megaro added another to give Methodist a 5–3 lead.
- An additional run crossed in the sixth inning on another Pfeiffer wild pitch, pushing the advantage to 6–3. The Falcons responded with a two-run double in the bottom half to cut the deficit to 6–5.
- From there, Methodist took complete control. The Monarchs erupted for 13 unanswered runs over the final innings, capitalizing on timely hitting and disciplined at-bats to pull away for the 19–5 win.

- Golemo, Kade Bell, and Israel Ortiz each recorded two hits to lead the offense.
- Golemo paced the team with three RBIs, while four additional Monarchs drove in two runs apiece.
