HOW IT HAPPENED – Game 1
- Methodist struck first in the opening inning, taking a 1–0 lead. Freshman Ella Poulk and junior Rachel Lawson each recorded base hits to set the table before junior Minnie Johnson drove in the run with an RBI single.
- North Carolina Wesleyan quickly responded, scoring three runs in both the first and second innings to build a 6–1 advantage.
- The Monarchs added their second run in the fourth inning. With the bases loaded and one out, Poulk drew a four-pitch walk to bring a run home. However, an inning-ending double play limited further damage, keeping the deficit at 6–2.
- That would be as close as Methodist would get, as the Battling Bishops added two runs in the fourth and one in the fifth to secure the 9–2 victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED – Game 2
- The Monarchs were limited offensively in Game Two, collecting just three hits.
- North Carolina Wesleyan did all of its scoring early, plating one run in the first inning and adding three more in the second to take a 4–0 lead—an advantage they would not relinquish.
NUMBERS

- Senior Rachel Blanchard was the only other Monarch to record a hit in both games.
