FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. After earning All-Region recognition earlier this week, Methodist University junior
Austin Rinzel added another major honor to his historic 2026 campaign, being named a D3Baseball.com Fifth Team All-American.
The Columbia, South Carolina, native continued to collect postseason accolades following one of the top offensive seasons in program history. Rinzel's 84 hits not only led Methodist and the USA South Athletic Conference, but also ranked as the second-most in all of NCAA Division III this season.
His .472 batting average set a new Methodist single-season program record and finished as the sixth-best average nationally in Division III during the 2026 season. Rinzel also paced the Monarchs in runs scored (63), triples (4), slugging percentage (.635), OPS (1.179), walks (27), and stolen bases (21).
With the honor, Rinzel becomes the 32nd All-American in Methodist baseball program history. It also marks the first time the Monarchs have produced All-Americans in consecutive seasons since 2002 and 2003.
