FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The Methodist University women's volleyball team clashed in their home and conference opener against Pfeiffer University inside the March F. Riddle Center on Tuesday night, coming away with the victory, 3-1, on numerous season highs by the Monarchs.

How It Happened
- Freshman Harper Evans and senior Savannah Hovander led the Monarchs to an early six-point run in set one, keeping the momentum in Methodist's favor. The deficit grew larger for the Falcons, as sophomore Addison Johnson collected two service aces and a kill within the remaining six points for the Monarchs to snatch the first stanza from the Falcons, 25-14.
- Gabi Gama and Jada Thomas scored early for the Falcons in the second set, leading to defensive miscues for the Monarchs. This would not stop the Monarchs attack game, with Evans and sophomore Grace Tillery recording two kills each in an 8-0 and 7-0 run for Methodist, with Hovander closing out the 25-18 set two win.
- The third stanza shifted towards the Falcons favor, with Leigan Lusk collecting two kills off separate 4-0 and 3-0 stretches. Although Savannah Hovander would keep the Monarchs in the set with four kills acquired, Pfeiffer would ultimately become the set three victors in a competitive 25-23 contest period.
- In the fourth set, Ashley Farman would log two service aces, a kill, and an assist through a back-and-forth closing stanza. Addison Johnson for the Monarchs would hold strong through her season-high outing, earning the final kill from the Farman assist to conclude a 25-19 set win and a 3-1 match victory for Methodist.

- Sophomore Addison Johnson led the Monarchs tonight with a season-high 18 kills against the Falcons. Senior Savannah Hovander was not far behind, collecting a season-high 17 kills versus Pfeiffer in the midweek conference outing.
- Freshman Harper Evans had multiple season-high outings of her own, recording six kills, 40 assists, 12 digs, and one block versus the Falcons.
- Sophomore Ashley Farman was a defensive powerhouse tonight for the Monarchs, collecting a season-high five service aces with 16 digs in the process.
