Christopher Hawley is entering his second season at Methodist University. Hawley will be coaching the varsity running backs and running the JV program.
After taking over the varsity running backs in week six of last season, the group saw significant improvement under his leadership. The group improved by 80 yards per game than the previous weeks highlighted by E'Montie Dears breaking the Methodist single-game rushing record versus Greensboro.
Hawley comes to Methodist with 10 years of coaching experience, including six years at the collegiate level. He served as an offensive quality control coach for three years at Florida Atlantic under legendary coach Howard Schnellenberger. He also spent a year coaching tight ends at Bridgewater. Hawley spent a pair of seasons as a graduate assistant at Wisconsin Lutheran where he coached on both sides of the ball.
As a high school coach, Hawley has coached several players who are currently in the NFL. He also had numerous players go on to sign for FBS schools and other scholarship levels.
Hawley graduated from Florida Atlantic in 2010 with a degree in history and political science. Hawley earned his Masters in educational leadership in 2014 from Wisconsin Lutheran.
