Kevin Hyland enters his second year as the wide receivers coach at Methodist, and was promoted to special teams coordinator the spring of 2015. A native of Lakewood, Ohio, Hyland played at John Carroll University, before graduating from Kent State University (Ohio) with a bachelor’s degree in education.
He started his collegiate coaching career at Dordt College in 2008, before serving on the staff at Carroll University from 2009-11, where he earned his master’s degree in education. In the fall of 2011, he returned to John Carroll University as the wide receivers coach, before coaching and teaching at Rocky River High School for the 2012-13 school year.
In the 2014 season, Hyland helped guide a Methodist wide receiving corps that contributed to the Monarch offense which led the USA South in yards and points per game. Hyland also helped two wide receivers, Anthony Radke and Patrick Jacobs, get named to the USA South All-Conference Team.
At his most recent stop before Methodist, Hyland, the son of Patrick and Cindy, was the offensive graduate assistant at his alma mater, Kent State University in 2013. He resides in Fayetteville.
