Kevin Magouirk

Kevin Magouirk (pronounced Ma-gwerk) enters his 21st year in coaching and fifth season as the Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks coach at Methodist University.

Coach Magouirk has been a part of the changing of the guard put forth by Head Football Coach Keven Williams. Under Magouirk’s leadership the offense has stabilized and grown each year, leading the USA-South Athletic Conference in almost every statistical category in the Spring 2021 season.

Magouirk came to Fayetteville after spending 2016 Down Under in Australia as the head coach for the Logan City Wolverines of the now-defunct National Gridiron League. He acted as the head coach, general manager and team president putting together a 41-man roster comprised of international & Australian national players.

While at South Carolina State, Magouirk coached the most prolific passer in South Carolina State history in quarterback Malcolm Long. Long, who would finish his career breaking 13 single season & career school records, earned All-MEAC honors twice in his career including being named 2010 Preseason MEAC Player of the Year.

A former wide receiver and running back at the University of South Carolina, Magouirk began his 20 year coaching career in 2001 as the wide receivers coach at McLean High School. He then made the transition to the collegiate ranks as the wide receivers coach at St. Anselm College (2002), wide receivers coach at Lehigh University (2003-04), offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach at Husson College (2005-06), assistant wide receivers coach at The Citadel (2007), offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach at South Carolina State University (2008-2012), offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach at Woodmont High School (2013-2015) and finally as the head coach for the Logan City Wolverines (2016).

A native of Mandeville, Louisiana, Magouirk is a 2001 graduate of The University of South Carolina, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in retail management. He currently resides in Fayetteville and is single.
