Kyle Wantland

Kyle Wantland is entering his second season with the Monarchs and will be coordinating the junior varsity offense. A native of Fisher, Ill., Wantland played his collegiate football at Monmouth College. During his time there, Wantland was a three time all-conference wide receiver. The team went three straight seasons with perfect 10-0 records in the regular season and won three straight Midwest Conference titles. In 2011, he graduated from Monmouth with a bachelor’s degree in history.

In 2011, he began his coaching career at his alma mater, Fisher High School. He co-coordinated the offense for the varsity team and ran the JV program for his mentor Matt Leng. The team went 6-4 and made it back to the playoffs after a two-year drought.

In 2012, Wantland began a graduate assistant job with St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa. Wantland was the team’s wide receiver coach and successfully coached two all-conference wide receivers. One of his wide outs was the conference’s leading receiver in yards, catches, and touchdowns and the team went 9-1 to host the University’s first-ever home football playoff game. In May 2014, he graduated with his master’s degree in organizational leadership.

Kyle is the youngest of three children, who include his two sisters Chirstie and Casey Wantland. He currently resides in Fayetteville and is the son of William and Clydette Wantland.Â
