Box Score DANVILLE, Va. - The Methodist men's soccer team got back on track Wednesday with a 4-0 USA South win over Averett University. The Monarchs move to 6-5 overall and 2-0 in the USA South and Averett falls to 1-5 this season and 0-2 in the conference.
Sophomore
Brion Kelly scored the first goal of the game on a free kick in the ninth minute. Sophomore
Stan Pajak scored the second goal on the assist from senior
Evan Monteiro. Methodist led 2-0 at halftime and came back and tallied two additional goals in the second half. Freshman
Julian Hart fed Kyle Daughtery for the third goal of the game before scoring one of his own in the 89th minute.
Freshman
Kyle Beach made three saves to preserve the shutout while Justin Price had 12 saves for Averett.
The Monarchs will host N.C. Wesleyan Saturday at 4 pm.
