Box Score FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.- Methodist men's soccer earned their seventh shutout of the season over visiting Shenandoah on Saturday afternoon.  The game remained scoreless until the second half when the Monarchs where able to score two goals.  Methodist improves to 8-8 overall and to 3-2 in the USA South Athletic Conference while Shenandoah falls to 0-12-2 overall and to 0-4 in the Conference.

Methodist stepped up the offensive in the second half when freshman Jason Casco  delivered the ball across the box to Bret Brennan for a one touch finish for the first goal of the game.  
With only four minutes left to go, Jamie Gunderson was taken down in the box providing the Monarchs with a penalty kick.  Mike DeMara stepped up for the kick and shot it past the goalie giving Methodist a two goal lead.  

Kyle Beach tallied five saves for the Monarchs and Brian Garretson had four for the Hornets.  

Methodist will host Randolph College Saturday, October 25th for the last home game of the regular season.  Kickoff is set for 3 p.m.
