Sean Gregory scored the game-winner in the second overtime period.
Greensboro was recently ranked eighth in the NSCAA South region poll and took the early 1-0 lead just before halftime on a 30-yard blast from Andrew Clark. The Monarchs battled back and senior
Evan Monteiro tied the game with a 25-yard shot to the right side of the goal in the 86th minute.
The first overtime period was scoreless but Methodist drew a free kick in the final minute of overtime.
Brion Kelly's shot rebounded to
Sean Gregory for the game-winning goal.
Methodist goalkeeper
Kyle Beach had four saves while Kurt Gardiner had five stops for the Pride.
The Monarchs' regular season is complete and will await the seedings for the USA South Tournament scheduled to begin with the quarterfinals Tues, Nov. 4.
