Box Score ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - The Methodist men's soccer team lost to N.C. Wesleyan in the USA South Tournament semifinals.
N.C. Wesleyan took the early 1-0 lead in the 18th minute on a low shot by Owen White. The Battling Bishops scored their second goal in the 26th minute. The Monarchs' defense locked in and held N.C. Wesleyan scoreless for the remainder of the half as they took the 2-0 lead into halftime.
The Bishops came out strong in the second half scoring four goals in 15 minutes to jump out to the 6-0 lead. They countered once more with a goal in the 76th minute to win 7-0.
Kyle Beach had eight saves for the Monarchs while
Cory Harrison had two. Alberto Faisca picked up the shutout for the Bishops with one save.
N.C. Wesleyan advances to the USA South Championship game Saturday at 2 pm.
At the conclusion of the Tournament,
Bret Brennan was named to the USA South All-Tournament team.
