FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Down just 1-0 at halftime, the Methodist women's soccer team battled with #4 Lynchburg, but the Hornets came out strong midway through the second half to finish with the 5-1 win. Methodist moves to 2-5 overall while Lynchburg is 7-0-1 this season.
The Hornets scored first just three minutes before halftime on a goal from Ashley Hoath. Lynchburg scored their second goal six minutes into the second half, but Methodist did not let up. After a foul was called just outside the 18-yard box, freshman
Danielle Minichello set up to take the kick. She shot far post to move the Monarchs within a goal. Lynchburg responded with three goals in eight minutes to take the 5-1 win.

Kasey Nichols has nine saves in the game while Lynchburg goalkeepers Anna Wright and Julia Watson each had a save for the Hornets.
The Monarchs will open USA South Conference play on Wednesday against Peace at 3 pm.
