FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Down just 1-0 at halftime, the Methodist women's soccer team battled with #4 Lynchburg, but the Hornets came out strong midway through the second half to finish with the 5-1 win.  Methodist moves to 2-5 overall while Lynchburg is 7-0-1 this season.

The Hornets scored first just three minutes before halftime on a goal from Ashley Hoath.  Lynchburg scored their second goal six minutes into the second half, but Methodist did not let up.  After a foul was called just outside the 18-yard box, freshman Danielle Minichello set up to take the kick.  She shot far post to move the Monarchs within a goal.  Lynchburg responded with three goals in eight minutes to take the 5-1 win.

Methodist goalkeeper Kasey Nichols has nine saves in the game while Lynchburg goalkeepers Anna Wright and Julia Watson each had a save for the Hornets.

The Monarchs will open USA South Conference play on Wednesday against Peace at 3 pm.
