Box Score ASHLAND, Va. - Methodist scored early and went on to win 3-0 over Randolph-Macon in non-conference action Wednesday afternoon. The Monarchs move to 5-4 on the season while Randolph-Macon falls to 2-5-1.
Senior
James Gunderson put the Monarchs on the board in the 11th minute on a goal from senior
Evan Monteiro. Methodist was out shot 9-6 in the first half, but held the 1-0 lead at halftime.
In the second half, senior
Brandon Cunningham assisted sophomore
Stan Pajak in the 54th minute to give the Monarchs the 2-0 advantage. Senior
Mike DeMara added an insurance goal in the 77th minute on a header from junior
Bret Brennan's free kick.
Freshman
Kyle Beach had nine saves in the win while Jason DePre made four saves for Randolph-Macon.
The Monarchs will be on the road again Sunday at Eastern Mennonite for a 2 pm kickoff.
