FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The Methodist University women's tennis team defeated Peace College 9-0 Tuesday afternoon to move to 10-2 on the season and 4-0 in the USA South Athletic Conference.
The Monarchs opened up with a 3-0 sweep in the doubles competition.
Kaitlin Flaherty and
Shannon Vivian battled to an 8-6 win at number one and
Lindsey Davis and
Dana Powell won 8-2 at number two.
Heather Brayton and
Cameron Tinkham won 8-0 at number three.
Methodist kept up the shutout in singles beginning with Brayton's 6-0, 6-0 win at number five. Davis also won 6-0, 6-0 at number three and Powell won 6-1, 6-1 at number four. Flaherty won 6-0, 6-3 at number one and Vivian took the 6-0, 6-3 win at number two. Altman finished up with the 6-2, 6-1 win at number six.
The Monarchs hope to make up a match at Meredith on Wednesday at 3:30 pm.
