WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Methodist volleyball defeated Salem College 3-1 (25-21, 19-25, 25-15, 25-12) in Winston-Salem Tuesday night.
The two teams played a tight first set before Methodist pulled away late finishing with three consecutive kills to win 25-21. The Monarchs took a 10-4 lead in the first set, but Salem went on a 13-2 run to take the lead. Methodist cut the lead to three at 22-19, but the Spirits took advantage of the Monarchs' errors to win 25-19.
Methodist responded with two wins in the third and fourth sets at 25-15 and 25-12.
Lauren Bramble led the Monarchs with 19 kills while
Stephanie Wood added 16 and
Jalesty Washington finished with 10.
Kayci Miller dished out 46 assists with 10 digs while libero
Hillary McPhatter paced the team with 19 digs.
The Monarchs will be back at home to host Guilford on Friday at 7 p.m.
