Box Score FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The Methodist men's soccer team took a 1-0 lead at halftime and added an insurance goal in the second half to finish with the 2-0 win.
Eric McGinnis scored the first goal of the game in the 30th minute after beating the Virginia Intermont defense. McGinnis fed
Alex Ray a pass from the left side for the second goal in the 65th minute.
Virginia Intermont out shot Methodist 12-7, but only four of their shots were on frame.
Kyle Beach and
Patrick Hamel combined for the shutout with four saves.
Matthew Skinner had three saves for the Cobras.
Methodist will be back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Averett for a 4 p.m. kickoff.
