FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The women's tennis played a final tune-up match against Bridgewater before heading to Texas for spring break. The Monarchs cruised to the 8-1 win over the Eagles.
The Monarchs jumped out to the 2-1 lead after doubles.
Kaitlin Flaherty and
Katherine Meindl won 8-3 at number one and
Rachel Purser and
Dana Powell won 8-4.
Heather Brayton and
Kelli Shelton lost 8-5 at number three.
Flaherty won 6-0, 6-1 at number one and Meindl earned the 6-0, 6-0 shutout at number two. Purser won 6-3, 6-5 at number three and Brayton won 6-1, 6-2 at number four. Powell won 6-0, 6-1 at number five and
Jennifer Hamel finished with the 6-3, 6-2 win at number six.
The Monarchs will travel to Texas on Sunday for four matches this week.
