SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The Methodist track and field team took 10 student-athletes to the USC-Upstate Invitational on Saturday.
Greg Bailey finished seventh in the 100 meters in 10.99 seconds and fourth in the 200 meters in 21.77 seconds.
Cedric McGill placed fifth in the 100 meters in 10.94 seconds and ninth in the 200 in 22.49 seconds.
Stefan Johnson was fifth in the 200 meters in 21.79 seconds and placed 11th in the 100.
Aristotle Nelson earned a ninth place finish in the 400 meters running the race in 52.32 seconds.
Aaron Holmes placed fifth in the 400 meter hurdles in 55.51 seconds and
Pierson Singleton placed ninth in the long jump clearing 6.30 meters.
The men's 4x100 meter relay team finished second in 41.50 seconds.
On the women's side,
Kristyn Zeiler finished second in the 1500 meters (4:54.92) and third in the 800 meters (2:28.00).
Allison Ray placed seventh in the discus throw with a throw of 28.76 meters and finished eighth in the shot put with a distance of 8.94 meters.
Next weekend the Monarchs will compete at the Mason Dixon Conference Championships in Salisbury, Md.
