Box Score FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The Methodist men's soccer team bounced back on Sunday with a 2-0 win over Marietta College.
Freshman
Eric McGinnis had an opportunity in the 19th minute and had his first shot saved, but came back with the goal on his second attempt to give Methodist the 1-0 lead. The Monarchs held the advantage at halftime and came back with their second goal in the 50th minute.
Clayton Newton scored his fifth goal of the season after beating the defender and cutting back with a shot to the near post.
Kyle Beach finished with the shutout picking up five saves in the win. Chris Stollar had eight saves for Marietta.
The Monarchs will take the road next weekend to face Covenant and Piedmont.
