Box Score ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - North Carolina Wesleyan College jumped out to the quick 3-0 lead and the deficit was too big for the Monarchs to come out of, falling 3-1.
Omar Kanten scored two goals for the Bishops in the 18th and the 33rd minute to put N.C. Wesleyan up early. The Bishops capitalized on a defensive miscue just four minutes later to go ahead 3-0. The Monarchs'
Eirik Nordseth scored an unassisted goal just before halftime to close the gap to two goals.
Methodist out shot the Bishops 15-14, but N.C. Wesleyan held on for the 3-1 win.
Kyle Beach and
Patrick Hamel combined in goal for six saves.
Alberto Faisca had nine saves for N.C. Wesleyan.
The Monarchs will be back in action next Wednesday when they host Greensboro College at 3 p.m.
