Box Score FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The Methodist men's soccer came out ready to play on Wednesday and dominated Greensboro College in a 3-0 win.

The Monarchs got on the board in the 26th minute when Clayton Newton sent his second corner kick of the day to the far post for Nahom Hargwoon to run onto and drill it into the back of the net for a goal. The Monarchs held the 1-0 lead at halftime, but put a stamp on it early in the second half. Eric McGinnis had a breakaway and was fouled just outside of the box. Newton stepped up to take the free kick and bent it around the wall and just inside the near post for the second goal of the game. Newton picked up his second assist of the day on another free kick sent to the far post for McGinnis to deflect into the goal.

Methodist's Kyle Beach made four saves in the shutout while Woody Wilder had five saves for the Pride.

The Monarchs will be back in action on Saturday when they host Ferrum in the regular season finale at noon. With the win today, Methodist and Greensboro are tied for third in the conference, but the Monarchs hold the tiebreaker. The final USA South Tournament seedings will be released Saturday once all games are complete.
