GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Methodist women's tennis team sought out their 10th win on Friday with a match up against Hollins University. The Monarchs picked up the clutch victory with an 8-1 defeat of Hollins.

Kaitlin Flaherty and Katherine Meindl won 8-1 at number one doubles. Dana Powell and Rachel Purser won 8-3 at number two while Laura Baker and Stacey Brooks earned an 8-0 shutout win at number three.

Flaherty won 6-1, 6-0 at number one singles and Purser won 6-1, 6-2 at number three. Baker did not drop a game with a 6-0, 6-0 win at number four and Powell won 6-0, 6-2 at number five. Shelton won 6-1, 6-1 at number six. Hollins picked up the 6-2, 4-6, 10-0 win over Meindl at number two.

Methodist will open USA South action on Saturday when they host Averett at 2:30 p.m.
