FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The Methodist women's tennis team kept up their winning ways with a 9-0 victory in their first conference match of the season.

With the help of teammate Katherine Meindl, Kaitlin Flaherty tied the MU record for doubles wins with an 8-0 victory at number one doubles. Dana Powell and Rachel Purser won 8-0 at number two and Stacey Brooks and Laura Baker won 8-0 at number three.

Flahety won 6-1, 6-2 at number one singles and Meindl won 6-0, 6-1 at number two. Purser won 6-0, 6-0 at number three and Baker won 6-0, 6-1 at number four. Powell and Kelli Shelton finished with the 6-0, 6-0 shutouts at five and six singles respectively.

The Monarchs will be back in action on Sunday in a rescheduled match against Greensboro at 2 p.m.
