GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Methodist women's tennis team picked up their fifth shutout of the season with a 9-0 win over Greensboro.
Methodist won all three doubles matches by a score of 8-0.
Kaitlin Flaherty broke Shannon Vivian's record for career doubles wins after teaming up with
Katherine Meindl at number one.
Rachel Purser and
Dana Powell won at number two and
Stacey Brooks and
Laura Baker earned the win at number three.
The Monarchs lost just two games in the match as they cruised to the 9-0 win. Flaherty won 6-0, 6-0 at number one and Meindl won 6-1, 6-0 at number two. Purser won 6-0, 6-0 at number three and Baker won 6-0, 6-0 at number four. Powell won 6-0, 6-0 at number five and Shelton won 6-1, 6-0 at number six.
Methodist will be back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Meredith College for a 3:30 p.m. start.
