RALEIGH, N.C. - The Methodist women's tennis team dominated Meredith College on Wednesday with an 8-1 win.
The Monarchs opened with a 3-0 lead after doubles.
Kaitlin Flaherty and
Katherine Meindl won 8-2 at number one and
Rachel Purser and
Dana Powell won 8-3 at number two.
Stacey Brooks and
Laura Baker finished up with an 8-5 win at number three.
Flaherty lost at number one singles in a third set tiebreaker 4-6, 6-1, 10-3. Meindl won 6-0, 6-3 at number two and Purser won 6-3, 6-2 at number three. Baker won 6-1, 6-4 at number four and Powell won 6-2, 6-3 at number five.
Kelli Shelton earned a 6-1, 6-1 win at number six.
Methodist will be back in action this weekend with four matches. The Monarchs will take on Sweet Briar and Ferrum at Ferrum on Saturday.
