FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The Methodist women's tennis team won a program record tying 20th consecutive match on Sunday with an 8-1 victory over Virginia Wesleyan.
Methodist took the early 2-1 lead after doubles.
Kaitlin Flaherty and
Katherine Meindl won 8-1 at number one and
Brittany Britt and
Lindsie Bentham won by default at number three.
Jessica Broadwell and
Lauryn Justice dropped number two doubles 8-5.
Hillary Petruska won the number six singles by default and
Kaitlin Flaherty won at number one by retirement with a 5-0 lead.
Rachel Purser won 4-6, 6-1, 10-1 at number two and
Laura Baker won 6-1, 6-0 at number three.
Dana Powell won 6-2, 6-1 at number four and
Adrinne Beaver won 6-2, 6-2 at number five.
Methodist will be back in action on Wednesday when they host Coker in a rescheduled match from earlier this season.
