FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The Methodist women's tennis team picked up a 9-0 shutout over USA South Conference foe N.C. Wesleyan on Wednesday.

Methodist breezed through doubles with Laura Baker and Stacey Brooks winning 8-0 at number three and Kaitlin Flaherty and Katherine Meindl earning the 8-0 win at number one. Rachel Purser and Dana Powell finished with the 8-5 win at number two.

Flaherty won 6-0, 6-2 at number one singles and Meindl won 6-3, 6-1 at number two. Purser won 6-2, 3-6, 1-0 (3) at number three and Baker won 6-1, 6-1 at number four. Powell won 6-1, 6-2 at number five and Kelli Shelton won 6-0, 6-0 at number six.

The Monarchs will be back in action on Saturday when they take on Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Va. at 11 a.m.
