Box Score ATLANTA, Ga. - The Methodist men's soccer team earned a 2-0 shutout over Emory University on Saturday to give head coach
Justin Terranova his 100th career win.
The Monarchs move to 2-0-1 on the season winning their second straight. The game was scoreless after the first half while Emory out shot Methodist 6-2 through the first 45 minutes. The Monarchs struck first in the 49th minute when
Eric McGinnis made a long run and crossed one over the middle to
Patrick VanCura for the goal. McGinnis picked up a goal of his own in the 76th minute with the assist to
Chris Ryan.
Kyle Beach made six saves in goal to earn the shutout. Aram Keteyian had one save for Emory.
Terranova's record at Methodist improves to 100-72-10 since taking over the program in 2002 and earning his first victory with a 3-0 shutout over Mount Olive August 30, 2002.
Methodist will be back in action on Sunday when they take on Oglethorpe.
