Box Score LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Methodist women's soccer team battled with regionally ranked Lynchburg College, but fell 5-0 to the Hornets on Wednesday.

The Hornets dominated the early part of play and took the first 12 shots of the game before scoring the first goal in the 24th minute. Lynchburg went on to score three more goals in the first half in the final ten minutes of the period to lead 4-0 at the break. The Hornets scored their fifth goal in the 57th minute to earn the 5-0 win.

Sara Altman made 12 saves in the first 45 minutes and Sarah Hayden had seven saves in the second half.

The Monarchs will be back in action on Friday when they host Berry College at 5 p.m.
