Box Score GLENSIDE, Pa. -- The No. 23 Methodist men's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to No. 5 Stevens in the first round of the NCAA Division III Tournament on Saturday evening at Arcadia University.

The Ducks (17-2-1) scored their first goal of the match in the 14th minute when Quinn Conner headed in a cross from Zach Adler at the 13:58 mark to take a 1-0 lead. It took less than three minutes of play in the second half for Stevens to notch its second goal of the match, this time as Adler dribbled through the Monarch defense and scored unassisted at the 47:10 match for an insurance goal.

Methodist, which recorded only three shots in the first half, was unable to muster much in the way of offense in the second period as the Ducks limited the Monarchs to just three shots once again, and outshot MU, 8-6, on the day.

Stevens was the much more physical side on the day as well, logging 18 fouls to just 10 for Methodist, and the game grew more physical late in the contest as a total of five yellow cards were issued in the final 19 minutes.

Pat Hamel made one save on the day for Methodist and Paul Killian stopped two shots for the Ducks to preserve the clean sheet.

With the loss the Monarchs have concluded their 2012 campaign.
