STAUNTON, Va. - The Methodist women's tennis team won their sixth straight match on Sunday with a 9-0 shutout over Mary Baldwin College.
Methodist dominated from start to finish and moved to 10-2 overall and 2-0 in the USA South Athletic Conference.
Kelli Shelton and
Emily Talley teamed up to win 8-1 at number one doubles while
Lindsie Bentham and
Lauryn Justice won 8-1 at number two.
Sara Altman and
Stephanie Hunter earned the 8-0 shutout at number three.
Katherine Meindl and
Rachel Purser won 6-1, 6-0 at number one and two singles respectively.
Laura Baker won 6-2, 6-0 at number three and
Dana Powell earned the 6-0, 6-0 win at number four. Shelton and Justice finished off the match with 6-0, 6-0 wins at five and six.
Methodist returns to Fayetteville to host Connecticut College on Monday at 3 p.m.
