FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The Methodist women's tennis team won their eighth straight match with a 9-0 victory over Ferrum College.
The Monarchs (12-2, 3-0) led 3-0 after doubles.
Emily Talley and
Kelli Shelton won 8-0 at number three and
Rachel Purser and
Dana Powell teamed up to win 8-0 at number two.
Katherine Meindl and
Laura Baker pulled away to win 8-3 at number one.
Powell,
Lauryn Justice and
Stephanie Hunter won 6-0, 6-0 at number four, five and six singles to clinch the match.
Laura Baker won 6-0, 6-1 at number three and Purser won 6-0, 6-0 at number two before Meindl finished with the 6-2, 6-0 win at number one.
Methodist will be back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Peace College to take on the Pacers and Greensboro College.
