Virginia Beach, Va. -- The Methodist women's tennis team earned a 6-3 win over Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon.
The Monarchs won 2-of-3 doubles points and then took four the six singles matches to improve to 1-1 on the season.
Hillary Petruska and
Kelli Shelton each posted a pair of wins on the day. Petruska, winning her singels match in straight sets after teaming with
Isabella Graf to post an 8-4 win in doubles. And Shelton, also a winner in straight sets in singles, teamed with
Emily Talley to record an 8-3 win at No. 3 doubles.
Methodist will now take on Salisbury on Sunday at 12:00 pm
