NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- The Methodist women's tennis team prevailed, 6-3, over Christopher Newport on Sunday afternoon.
 
The Monarchs took a 2-1 lead after doubles the posted wins at Nos. 2-5 singles to win for the 16th consecutive time.
 
Methodist, the No. 1 seed in the USA South Tournament will take on eighth-seeded Meredith at 2:00 pm on Friday at N.C. Wesleyan.
