Box Score DEMOREST, Ga. – The Methodist men's soccer team used
Eric McGinnis' fourth goal in as many games to defeat host Piedmont, 1-0, on Sunday afternoon.
The Monarchs (4-5-1, 2-1-0 USA South) salvaged a split of their two-game road trip as McGinnis scored off a pass from
Hank Tobener at the 16:46 mark, accounting for the only goal in this USA South matchup.
MU edged PC (2-7-0, 0-2-0) in terms of shots, 12-7, five of which were taken by McGinnis.
Methodist goalkeeper
Nick Martens (4-5-1) recorded his third shutout victory of the season, stopping three shots. Piedmont's Kenneth Hearn (2-7-0) took the loss, making six saves.
The Monarchs will return to the pitch when they host N.C. Wesleyan on Wednesday at 4:00 pm.
