Box Score FERRUM, Va. -- The Methodist men's soccer team secured a home game in the upcoming USA South Tournament and earned the tournament's No. 4 seed with a 5-0 win at Ferrum College on Wednesday.
The Monarchs enter USA South tournament play with a 13-2-1 overall record and 8-2 in league play. Ferrum falls to 4-12-2 on the season, and 2-7-1 in conference.

Frank Barone got the Monarchs off and running early when he capitalized off an assist from
Seth Harrison in the 8th minute, giving the Monarchs a 1-0 lead and posting the half's only goal.Â
To start the second half scoring for Methodist,
Eirik Nordseth was able to put a penalty kick past Ferrum's Joe Martin, putting the Monarchs ahead at 2-0 in the 47th minute.
Less than 10 minutes later,
AJ Lee, assisted by
Trevor Hendricks, found the back of the net in the 56th minute, giving the Green and Gold a 3-0 advantage. Lee tallied another goal in the 70th minute, this time off a feed from Harrison, to give the visitors a 4-0 lead.
The Monarchs topped off the day's scoring in the 83rd minute as
Chris Ryan notched his seventh assist of the season after he aided a
Tyler Ursay goal.
Methodist totaled 23 shots, including 11 on goal, to just three by the Panthers.
Alex Rabone saw action in all 90:00 for the Monarchs, making three saves on the day. Martin will take the loss for Ferrum, after playing the full 90 minutes in goal and making six saves.
With the win and the No. 4 seed, Methodist knows that it will host a USA South Quarterfinal game on Saturday at 11:30 am, but the opponent has yet to be officially released by the conference.
