FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- Four members of the Methodist women's soccer team reeled in All-USA South recognition as announced by the conference on Wednesday afternoon. Taylor Cavasos and
Eryka Underwood received first team all-conference,
Deycasha Miller was named to the second team, while
Cassie Poindexter and
Kortney Maggard garnered honorable mention all-conference accolades.
Leslie Coates represented the Monarchs on the All-Sportsmanship Team.

In her junior season for the Green and Gold, Cavasos, a native of Fayetteville, N.C., who was an all-conference second team selection a year ago, registered four goals in USA South play, while also leading the team with a career-high five assists, four of which came in conference play. Underwood, a junior from Clark, N.J., helped anchor a defense that posted a goals-against average of 1.01 with 10 shutouts, including nine in conference play.
Miller, a sophomore from Citrus County, Fla., led MU with eight goals, seven coming from USA South match ups, and she tallied two assists. Her seven conference goals ranked sixth in league play.

Poindexter, a sophomore who hails from Middletown, Md., followed closely behind Miller, totaling seven goals on the season, including the lone tally in the USA South quarterfinal match against Covenant. Maggard appeared in every match for the Monarchs this fall, and notched two assists.

Coates, a Newport News, Va. freshman midfielder, also appeared in all 18 matches for Methodist, earning 13 starting assignments, and she recorded two goals with one assist.

Third-seeded Methodist will return to action this Friday in Martinsville, Va., as it plays No. 7 seed N.C. Wesleyan at 7:30 pm in the USA South Tournament semifinals.
