FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - The Methodist women's tennis won against Christopher Newport, 7-2, in a neutral-site match on Sunday morning.
 
The Monarchs (1-1) won four-of-six singles flights as well as all three doubles matches. At No. 1 singles, Laura Baker edged Jodi Noland, 6-4, 6-3. Isabella Graf topped Jackie Gaine at No. 2 singles, 6-0, 6-0. At No. 5 singles, Emily Talley won against Katlyn Yarborough, 6-0, 6-0. In No. 6 singles, Stephanie Hunter defeated Hailey Nettles, 6-2, 6-3.
 
Baker and Graf edged Katie Carlson and Noland in No. 1 doubles, 8-6. Abigail Randolph and Talley defeated Logan Eldrigde and Gaine at No. 2 doubles, 8-6. Samantha Munze and Hillary Petruska teamed up to top Nettles and Yarborough, 8-1, in No. 3 doubles,
 
Methodist's next match will be on Saturday at Greensboro with the action slated to start at 10:00 am.
