Box Score 2 FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The Methodist dropped both ends of its doubleheader against Greensboro on Saturday afternoon. The game scores were 3-1 and 9-0, respectively.

In the opener, the Pride (4-4) scored runs on a two-run double by Sarah Connolly in the first and added another courtesy of a run-scoring groundout by Chelsea Brewer in the fifth.

The Monarchs (0-4) got on the board via a
Natalie High RBI double that plated
Heather Williams in their half of the second, but that would be all Methodist could muster offensively.

Williams led the Monarchs with two base hits.
Brittany Miller (0-2) took the loss in the pitching circle as she tossed the full seven innings and allowed six hits and three runs.

Greensboro's Shelby Drummonds (2-0) won as she went the distance with seven innings of six-hit, one-run ball and struck out five.

The Pride claimed the nightcap as well with a 9-0 victory in six innings as the mercy rule kicked in.

Already ahead by a 2-0 margin, Greensboro added decisive blows on Connolly's three-run triple in the fourth and later Rae Hall's two-RBI single in the sixth.

Methodist starting pitcher
Sarah Stapleton and
Ally Griffin each had two hits for the Monarchs. In the circle, Stapleton (0-2) was tagged with the loss as she lasted four innings and surrendered five hits and five runs.

Connolly went 3-for-3, scored twice and drove in three for the Pride, and Rae Hall added two base hits and two RBI. Jackie Nicholson (1-1) claimed the win as she threw six scoreless innings and scattered seven hits.

The Monarchs will play tomorrow in a doubleheader against Lynchburg. First pitch is set for 1:00 pm in Lynchburg, Va.
