Box Score FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- Led by a 4-for-4 performance from Chris Power, the Methodist baseball team banged out 17 hits in cruising to a 13-5 win in completing a three-game sweep of Greensboro on Monday evening at Armstrong-Shelley Field.

Power, who hit his sixth triple of the season, also walked once, and added four runs scored with a pair driven in as MU improved to 16-9 on the season and 10-5 in conference play. Greensboro fell to 2-20 on the year and 1-16 in the USA South.

The Monarchs scored in each of the first six innings, and blew things wide open with a five-run fifth inning to turn a 6-4 lead into an 11-4 advantage. Ray Lanners walked to lead off the frame, and following a Cody Molosky fly out, back-to-back singles by Alex Rodriguez and Lucas Scott loaded the bases. Power then drew a walk to force in the first run of the inning.

Power's walk marked the end of the day for GC starting pitcher Alex Zapata, and Pete Wildeboer greeted reliever Drew Baranosky with a sacrifice fly to center that plated Rodriguez and gave MU an 8-4 lead. Barnosky then unleashed a wild pitch that allowed Scott to score and Power to move up to third. An RBI single by Steven Kirby pushed Methodist's lead to 10-4, and he moved up to third on a stolen base and a balk. Stephen Nalls then reached on an error that allowed Kirby to scamper home with MU's 11th run of the contest.

The Monarchs tacked on two more runs in the sixth inning as Rodriguez drove in Lanners with a sacrifice fly, and Power singled to right to bring in Cody Molosky  from third for a 13-4 lead. The Pride scored their final run of the contest on Andrew Hernandez's double-play ball that allowed Braedon Jewett to score in the seventh inning.

After surrendering three runs in the first inning, and allowing the first four batters he faced to reach base, Zapata (1-3) settled down and lasted 4.1 innings. He allowed 10 runs (8 ER) on 13 hits and three walks. Mikie Morrison (1-0) earned the win in relief for Methodist. He allowed two runs (1 ER) on two hits and zero walks with three strikeouts in 3.1 innings. Rett Lee started and allowed two runs on a hit and five walks with two strikeouts in 1.2 innings.

In addition to Power's perfect day, Molosky added three base hits in five at bats, and Wildeboer, Kirby, Nalls and Lanners all provided a pair of singles. Kirby also drove in two and scored twice, Molosky and Nalls each drove in two runs and Lanners scored two runs.

J.P.  Lisk and Cody York were each 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored for Greensboro. Lisk walked twice, and York drew one walk and stole a base.
