RALEIGH, N.C. -- The Methodist volleyball team came up a pair of key USA South wins on Saturday afternoon, knocking off Piedmont, 3-1, and Meredith 3-2.
The Monarchs improved to 18-8 on the season and 10-6 in the USA South with the sweep. MU defeated Piedmont, 25-20, 18-25, 25-18, 25-18, and then held off Meredith 12-25, 20-25, 25-17, 25-17, 15-12.

In the win over Piedmont, four different players recorded at least 10 kills, led by 15 apiece from
Jordan Tew and
Cassidy Hayes.
Brittany Ter Meer added 11, and
Ashley Beardsley had 10. As a team, MU hit .316 for the match, including a .448 clip from Hayes.
Maggie Harris had 49 assists, and
Karly Klimas notched three service aces.

Klimas also led the team with 13 digs and
Alyssa Coffey added 12. Ter Meer had four blocks in the match and Beardsley had three.
in the come-from-behind win over the Avenging Angels, Tew led the way with 11 kills and a Hayes had 10. Ter Meer chipped in nine kills and Beardsley totaled seven.
Chyenne Pump had two service aces.

Klimas posted 32 digs to lead the Monarchs and Pump added 11. Hayes came up with five blocks and Harris had three blocks to go with 39 assists.

The Monarchs are back in action on Wednesday at N.C. Wesleyan beginning at 7:00 pm.
